The 72nd Annual Golden Globes Predictions

IMG_3279

The 72nd Golden Globe nominations are out and boy, it’s a weird batch of nominees this year, but hey it is the Golden Globes after all, and the HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association) always manages to be very different than other award ceremonies. This years nominations include several surprises and snubs, from Angelina Jolie’s “Unbroken” receiving a whopping 0 noms, to popular comedies such as Modern Family and The Big Bang Theory being left out, and to the rarity of “The CW” network receiving nominations for “Jane the Virgin” and its star Gina Rodriguez (last time a CW show had a nomination was for Keri Russell’s role in “Felicity” back in 1999 (even then, it was known as The WB). Also, now that Breaking Bad is no longer eligible, and True Detective finally landing its nominations under the “Mini-Series” category, the Drama Series and Actor categories will more than likely go to House of Cards and its star Kevin Spacey (and rightfully so). The 72nd Golden Globes will air on Sunday, January 11th at 8ET/5ET on NBC with returning hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
