The 89th Academy Awards Nominations: Surprises and Snubs

IMG_3307

Nominations have been announced for the 89th Academy Awards that will be held on Sunday February 26th at 8 EST on ABC. Some quick and strong thoughts I had about the nominees: 1) Hell yes for the wide range of Diversity in this year’s batch of nominees. 2) Meryl I love ya and I knew you would be nominated, however Amy Adams deserved that nomination for “Arrival”. 3) Thank God the Academy chose the right supporting actor from “Nocturnal Animals” in Michael Shannon rather than Aaron Johnson. 4) While a great film, I don’t believe “La La Land” deserved a whopping 14 total nominations this year.
