UPDATE: Peter MacNicol was previously nominated for his performance in Veep but the nomination was vetoed as per new Emmy rules, a guest actor/actress can only be eligible in these categories if they appear in less than 50% of the episodes aired in a season. MacNicol was in 5/10 of the episodes of Veep this season. After being vetoed out, the Television Academy instead chose to nominate Peter Scolari for his turn in Girls.
